Once upon a time…

The Early Music Movement, aiming to provide genuine representation of the musical heritage of the past centuries, is one of the most influental movement of music history of the post II. World War Europe. Composers, music historians, performers, singers, conductors and instrument experts have set the goal of playing early music in an authentic way, producing the same sound as it must have been heard those days when they were composed. The movement, initiated in England and in the Netherlands, soon appeared in Hungary as well. No wonder that the Early Music Days project has become one of the most relevant event of its kind worldwide. Malcolm Bilson, Nancy Argenta, the Kujiken family members and many others return year after year to perform at concerts and to hold master courses.

The 35th Early Music Day Festival will be held between 26 June and 6 July 2019 in the city of Vác. It will the third time that Vác hosts the event which is promising to provide a unique programme with outstanding concerts and master classes. The organizer, Filharmonia Hungary, invites students to get expertise in historical music and early music enthusiast to enjoy the programme.

The festival includes numbers of high-skilled music professors: Éva Lax, Bernhard Forck, Nicholas Parle and György Vashegyi.
